I went to study design at university some 30 years ago … and I’m still here! However, ‘here’ is now as a design academic - teaching, researching and engaging with community to try to make a difference. I’ve taught at universities in three different countries, and this site is a way of showing some of what my students and I have achieved.

As a designer I've always been fascinated with materials and what you can do with them. My investigative research of material properties and their sourcing has lead me to question at what cost -- to human rights and the environment -- we use materials.
